  1. Ksb is the best place that I have ever worked. Here I feel like I have a home away from home and everyone is caring and respectful. Thank you KSB staff.

    BUT…..we need more salad wednesdays!!!!!!!

  2. KSB is definitely different from other healthcare providers because we are afforded the opportunity to deliver world-class health care to a moderate-sized community. In essence,it's the best of both worlds: competent health care service in a local setting is one of our finer attributes.
    Now we could be content with providing "small town medicine" to a "small town clientele", but instead we strive to be better,as evidenced in our vision statement – that we will be the community's first choice for health services.

  3. 1) KSB is different than other healthcare providers. The patient is always number one and whether a nurse makes a special trip to get her patient a diet coke (like we did last week) or work with the doctor to make all the necessary arrangements so a patient can die at home in their own bed (like we did a couple months ago), KSB makes it happen. This type of care is individualized to each patient and a lot of other facilities are not like this.

    2) I think KSB is the best place to work. KSB recognizes their employees on many levels, whether it is a free meal ticket on your birthday or the thoughtful xmas presents. Many other employers do not do these things, and it just goes to show that KSB truly cares for their employees.

  4. Is KSB different than other healthcare providers and if so, how? I believe without knowing other healthcare providers policies that KSB is unique in promoting our goals to not just the employees but to the general public through the Pulse. We let the community know our intent to improve to be the best provider for the community and how we intend to achieve that goal.

    What do we do best? I believe communication is what we do best. We communicate as I said above our goals to be the best, we communicate to the patients so they know what to expect, we communicate with visitors to make them feel welcome. Communication in every aspect is very important and we strive to do that every day.

  5. Compared to other facilities, KSB is the best healthcare provider I have ever worked for.
    KSB’s leadership is what makes the difference. Their commitment to making the best better is shared through out the hospital campus and puts everyone on the same page toward the same goal. They recognize success at every level of the organization, have clear expectations and strive to always do the right thing.

    You are one of a kind! What other facility would celebrate snowstorms with free meals or power outages with McDonalds Coffee and/or a free meal? KSB’s generosity to its employees and community is another way it demonstrates it is a cut above the rest.

    The best thing KSB does is care for its patients with professionalism, kindness and caring and the willingness of staff to go the extra mile when it really counts.

  6. KSB is different from other healthcare institutions because it truly cares about its employees and patients. Many things have changed in this institution in my 36 years of employment, but the one continually sustained philosophy is that of family. Patients and families pick up on that atmosphere and feel safe, secure and comforted by the staff. KSB strives to be the “Best place for Healthcare” and I feel we succeed every day. From the leadership on down, every employee is committed and responsible for that common goal.

    The best thing KSB does is to continue to reinforce the family atmosphere, by treating its staff and patients with respect and compassion. From free meals on stressful days, to empowering employees to do what they feel is right for a given situation, to the commitment to the community by sponsoring numerous events, KSB truly is committed to the philosophy of “It’s the people”.

  7. I believe we are very different from other healthcare providers, in that our patients are proud to be seen here. After the power outage, all the people I saw in Dixon could talk about was how great it was we took such care to keep everyone happy, caffeinated, and fed. What other place can say that their actions affected an entire town, and those actions were simply what we do every day?

    I think the thing we do best is being us: the BEST. From the way employees to patients to friends and family are treated, one thing always stands out: US. We, as a group, always provide the very best care and compassion we can; We always treat our patients as guests and like our family.

  8. 1) KSB is a lot different, generally most of the doctors are more personable than larger hospitals and you can tell that they really do care.

  9. How is KSB different? Our leaders communicate the big picture. All employees have the ability through a variety of communication methods to keep up with our goals and accomplishments. Another aspect that makes us different is that our leaders are visible. Many comments made by new employees after their first day in Orientation is that it is really neat that all of Administration participates in Orientation.

    What do we do best? While we are the largest private employer in Lee County, KSB has been able to maintain a "small employer" feel among employees. Co-workers treat each other like a close friend or family and most would take the shirt off their back to help a fellow co-worker. This reflects in our ability to take care of our patients and visitors. We all look out for each other which in turn helps us to provide the best customer service and exceed our patients expectations.

  10. 1) KSB employs others who share the same belief in what healthcare should consist of as a whole; from patient relations to providing outstanding patient care. Our CEO's, past and present, possess great leadership qualities and have the kind of traits I've seen in many of my coworkers, and I've only been here for about 2 1/2 years!

    2) We treat our patients with the care and the respect they seek when they're here. Like mentioned above, there's a small town feel here at KSB. Our positions require us to communicate outside our departments for a variety of reasons related to our jobs, which originates back to the patient. There are many components that makes a successful KSB employee and I see it practiced everyday with my coworkers.

KSB differs from other healthcare providers in the area,as truly respecting the patient and we show that we are happy the patient came to us!As the commercial goes,KSB is for the people!I had expierenced care at other hospitals and clinics in the area,and I always felt like I was being a burden.The employees didn't smile or seem to enjoy their job.Patients tell me they like the employees at KSB the best too!

  12. I FIND THAT KSB HOSPITAL IS JUST ALL AROUND FRIENDLIER. I DEALT WITH A DOCTOR (IN ROCKFORD) THAT JUST WALKED AWAY WHILE I WAS ASKING QUESTIONS. THE NURSE SAID "HE'S A SPECIALIST" THAT'S WHY. I REPLIED AT "MY" HOSPITAL NO ONE WOULD BE TREATED LIKE THAT…EVER! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK~IT IS APPRECIATED!

  13. In my experience, other hospitals have good care but poor coordination and, yes, the doctors at the other hospitals I've visited do tend to be impersonal. KSB seeks to coordinate services overall for the patient; our Hospitalist program is a great step in that direction. And our doctors treat the patients as people first.

    I think one thing we do well is innovate. We do that across the board, in all departments, whether it's in technology or in unique programs like the Rural Track training partnership. Why can't a small hospital be an innovator? KSB shows it's possible.

  14. KSB Hospital is different from many other healthcare organization in that it clearly and publicly identifies its goals of serving three constituencies: patients, employees, and physicians. The wisdom of acknowledging that it takes different groups working together to make a truly great hospital is uncommon and special. KSB is dedicated to transparency and clear communication throughout all levels of the organization. KSB is also specifically focused on measuring, analyzing, and improving clinical quality for all patients. Serving and improving three distinct constituencies is not easy, but it's the right thing to do and it's part of what's right at KSB Hospital.

    What KSB Hospital does best is provide compassion and personal care to patients. This blog is regularly updated with letters from thankful patients and families for the kindness and compassion provided by employees at every stage of patient contact. Our registration clerks are attentive and welcoming, our nurses and technicians are helpful and skilled, our physicians are competent and caring, our clinical staff are encouraging and supportive, and our administrative and clerical staff are accurate and accessible. The sense of teamwork would be lost if every employee along the way didn't have such a strong commitment to providing quality, compassionate care. What KSB Hospital does best is provide an excellent patient experience.

  15. How we are different from other healthcare providers and what we do best are one and the same. We are one big family here. From the Board, administration, through all of the employees in every department in the hospital and the clinics and including each and everyone of our patients. Generally that is how we are treated as employees,like we matter and that is how we treat our coworkers and patients. Like they matter–like family–and we all want only the best for our family.

  16. 1. I feel KSB is different than any other healthcare provider because we always seem to put the patients first. KSB is always trying to set the bar higher by seeking out new services to offer, by improving the appearance of the hospital, and reminding staff of ways to go above and beyond to improve customer service.

    2. KSB does a good job of recognizing employees with various programs such as employee of the quarter, star cards, birthday emails/cards with a free lunch ticket, and offers various fun activities through out the year.

  17. How is KSB different from other healthcare providers? What do we do the best? Where does anyone begin with answering these questions? Well, I would say the answer to both questions is that KSB focuses on being the best. We truly want to be the best place for physicians to practice medicine. This is demonstrated through the constant advancement in what is offered to our patients by focusing on the strengths and skills of our talented physicians. We truly want to be the best place for employees to work. This is demonstrated through the Employee Surveys that are taking place. Administration wants to hear employees' comments and feelings towards their workplace. This will help in making improvements for a better work environment where needed and recognizing the existing strengths that the Hospital values. And finally, we truly want to be the best place for patients to receive care. This is demonstrated through the attention that our staff and physicians give to anyone that walks in the door. All three aspects put together makes KSB different from other providers and demonstrates what we do best.

  18. How are we different? KSB goes that "extra mile" in everything we do, whether it be treating patients, assisting visitors, benefitting the community, or supporting employees…

    What do we do best? Honestly… EVERYTHING!

  19. 1)KSB is different because our doctors take the time to actually listen to their patients at their side not at the door walking out.
    2)KSB does best at providing the small town feel with the big town options becoming more and more available here. Also our staff truely cares about the patients and and their families as well as our fellow coworkers and their families.

  20. What we do best is we treat everyone like family!!! It doesn't matter what department you work in or if you are a patient, visitor, contractor or anything you are treated the same as if you were the president. That alone is also what makes us different from all other health care!!!

    healthcare providers because the staff and physicians truly care about their patients and other staff. I have seen our physicians become very passionate about their patients' and staff's situations to the point of where they want to personally get involved and make a difference.

    I believe we provide the best work experience! Employees find purpose in their work and genuinely care about what they do and about each other.

  25. KSB is definitely the best place I have every worked! Everyday, I see how KSB senior administration listens to the employees and strives to make sure that our patients get great care and that our employees have everything they need to provide that care. I consistently see our administration looking forward to see how we can help the community and meet the needs of those in our service area. Our employees are also different that what I have worked with in the past – our employees want to be the best they can be, and they work hard at it everyday. I enjoy being a part of KSB every single day!
