A Chance to Listen

“One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.”
All I know about Bryant H. McGill is that he is an American author, and he wrote some of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books… and I love this quote.
And listening is my favorite part of Meals with the Administrators.
Once a month a vice president joins me for either breakfast, lunch or dinner here at KSB or at one of our clinics.  Human Resources randomly invites about 20 people. (Hint:  If you want to be included give HR a call.  It’s not that random!)
The thing I like best is we come with no presentation and no agenda.  We talk about whatever the team members want to talk about.
And we frequently don’t know the answer… and I see that as a good thing.
But we do know where to get the answer.  And almost always I take away an idea or a suggestion that we discuss at our weekly administrative meeting.
You see we serve our patients best by listening to those who serve our patients every day.
And that’s my favorite part of this event.
