KSB’s history as a philanthropic organization goes back to our very founding. After Judge Solomon Bethea purchased land to establish a hospital in memory of his wife, Katherine Shaw Bethea, Dixon’s individuals, churches, and civic organizations joined together to raise the necessary funds to construct the first 17-bed hospital building in 1897.
Today, we are proud to provide essential medical services to our service area 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through our acute care hospital as well as a variety of innovative, preventive and community services through our regional network of primary care clinics and our multi-specialty physician group.
Donations have helped to support the expansion of our services and to grow our impact throughout our 118 years of operations. In fact, our employees believe so strongly in giving back to KSB, more than 41 percent donated to our 2015 Employee Fund Campaign.
Along with our employees, community members can have a profound impact on KSB through a wide range of program options that best fit each particular personal situation. We gratefully accept one-time donations, recurring donations, memorial and honorary gifts, as well as bequests. Donors may direct gifts towards a specific program (such as cancer care, nursing scholarships, etc.) or leave gifts unrestricted so that we can apply your donation to the area of greatest need. All gifts made to KSB are used directly for the support of the hospital and community we serve.
Additionally, we welcome you to volunteer your time and talents to help KSB provide the best possible patient experience and care. Call KSB Volunteer Services to investigate opportunities.
Should you be interested in donating your time, talents, or fiscal resource to KSB, I encourage you to contact me so that we can identify the most impactful avenue available.
