Care You Need, When You Want It. KSB Increases Access to Patients through Extended Hours and Additional Weekend Appointments.
KSB Hospital knows that giving an outstanding patient experience requires providing more than just world-class clinical care. Not only do we want our patients to receive high quality care, but it’s important patients be seen when they want it, and need it. That’s why KSB Hospital has been working to expand clinic operation hours to entice new patients and make it more convenient for current patients to get an appointment.
“It’s tough when you work full time Monday through Friday,” said Linda Clemen, Chief Nursing Officer at KSB. “Not everyone has the flexibility of being able to take half a day off to go to the doctor. It’s all about the patient – giving them the best possible experience and quality care.”
After evaluating processes, and listening to patients’ feedback, physicians have been working to alter their operating hours to accommodate getting patients in earlier, later, and in some cases, on Saturday mornings.
“Being patient-centered and patient-focused is a top priority at KSB, and directly aligns with our strategic plan,” said Emily Sorenson, OD. “This means we need to think outside the box at what makes sense for our patients.
Each clinic has its own set hours. Currently, the clinics with extended and/or weekend hours include:
- Family Health Center: evening hours on Wednesdays & Thursdays
- Eye & Vision Center: evening hours on Tuesdays and Saturday morning appointments
- Pediatrics: evening hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; Saturday mornings on the first and third Saturday of the month
- Oregon Clinic: evening hours on Mondays
- Amboy Clinic: evening hours on Thursdays
“At the end of the day, it’s all about the patient and their needs,” said Clemen. “We are working diligently to serve our mission to restore, maintain, and enhance health by providing superior care now and in the future. To do this, access must stay on the forefront. We have to get patients into their doctors in a reasonable time that meets their needs. We’re committed to that mission and we’re committed to our patients.”
Patients should call their providers office for more information and to schedule an appointment.
