Communication is a two-way street

My most recent post focused on communication.  I want to stay on that topic.

This week KSB is hosting a series of employee forums. Some organizations call these town hall meetings.  My goal is to present relevant, timely information to our KSB Family in a concise, entertaining fashion.

My administrative team is constantly trying to dress me up in something way past the point of grossly embarrassing. I don’t even look good in a suit.  I am not about to pull on tights and dress as a superhero.

What I am willing to do is listen. At our forums, I will be using a method of anonymous voting.  Through a series of questions, I want to learn what you are interested in hearing and how you want to hear it.

In today’s electronic world it is easy for me to push out copious amounts of information. It is not easy to know if anyone reads it, and it is far more difficult to know if the material resonates with the reader.

If you are a KSB employee take 30 minutes out of your week and help me out.

Meanwhile, I’ll be looking for that Captain America outfit.

  1. Verbal communication is best, you know the one on one type with the human eye contact integrated with that tone of voice, something that the social media is lacking, that human interaction deal. The honesty of it all, human feelings. This cannot be taken for granted. I don’t care how much technical communication techniques you use.
