From May 8 through May 14, we thanked staff for their exemplary service with a week of fun-filled events encouraging celebration and comradery. National Hospital Week is a chance to recognize all of our employees for the care they provide to our patients every day.
The celebration began with Ice Cream Sundaes in the cafeteria and served at 1 am to our Night Shift. Tuesday was Patient and Community Day, we were able to thank our patients and visitors for supporting KSB. Our volunteers delivered flowers to patients and also greeted visitors as they came into the hospital with various kinds of goodies. Employee Fun and Friends day, held mid-week, included a photo booth stationed in the cafeteria. We hope our team was able to make lasting memories with their workplace family. Wellness Day, which was sponsored by the hospital’s Community Wellness department, included podiatry, bone density, vision, pulmonary function, glucose and BMI/weight screenings offered by KSB Hospital team members.
The week ended with Employee Appreciation Day and a special cookout including fresh off the grill ribeye steaks for hospital staff. The event was hosted by KSB Management and the Board of Directors where we served almost 900 people! At lunch we were able to welcome 45 retirees back to KSB to treat them to lunch and a gift bag! It is so fun to hear there memories and see the continued support they bring to our KSB community.
The Caring Friends Silent Auction wrapped up on Thursday and raised $5,771 this year!
Thank you to the Hospital Week Planning Committee of Grace Crowe, Olivia Klein, Hillary Popejoy, Tracy Reeder, Linda Setchell, and Nancy Varga for planning this fun filled week.
