The Power of Volunteerism – Christmas Trees and Angels

KSB Hospital kicked off the holiday season with the lighting of the Christmas Tree on the front lawn of the hospital, with a special assist from the Dixon Dukes football team.  Special thanks to KSB’s very own Dr. Mustapha for the beautiful picture.  My granddaughter, Klara (sporting her pink coat), is pretty cute too.

Walking through the streets of Dixon Friday evening, one couldn’t help but notice the smiles and laughter.  KSB’s Pediatric Department filled The Lovett Center with games and treats for the children.  It takes a small army to pull off such a special evening.

The following night I attended The Angel Ball, benefiting Serenity Hospice, Village of Progress and  Oregon Rotary.  Once again, the work it requires to pull off such a wonderful event for such notable causes makes me proud to live in our area.

Here’s hoping those that work so hard recognize how much they are appreciated.
