I received this note from Mary Helfrich, R.N. and wanted to pass it along for all to see. At my orientation presentation to new employees I talk about doing the right thing for the right patient at the right time. Hand washing is the right thing to do, and we should be proud of our progress. I urge all of us to keep this important infection control process in mind as we provide the best patient care.
Hi, Carol,Just wanted to share a phone conversation I received on Thursday, Jan.13, 2011, from an Infection Control Nurse from Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.Carla told me that one of the care givers at the Medical Center had been a visitor at KSB recently. Not only had she been here recently but in the past year as well. Her parents had been patients here overnite. While this employee was here, she was most impressed with the hand washing by OUR employees as they entered and left the room.Carla wanted to know our secret for compliance with hand hygiene. What a compliment to our folks !!Mary
