Dr. Rifaqat Khan

The entire KSB family is saddened tonight by the sudden loss of our own Dr. Rifaqat Khan, who died earlier today in a boating accident on the Rock River.

Those of you who had opportunity to work with him know that he was an amazingly astute clinician who was passionate in his care for his patients. Outside of the Hospital, he was a man of diverse interests who made a great friend to many of his fellow staff members.

As the shock of today’s loss has yet to wear off, there are few details available regarding any funeral or memorial arrangements, or plans for transitioning patients of Dr. Khan to other physicians. In the coming days though, we will use The Pulse to let you know the details of arrangements resulting from this tragedy.

In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers go out to Dr. Khan and his family in Dixon and in other parts of the world.

This is such a very tragic loss to the community . Our family ( mother, sister, and my own family )have been under his care for many years . As a nurse, I also worked with him at KSB . He was a loving father who spoke of his family with great fondness , a brilliant physician and above all a very kind man. We will all miss him very much. Thanks Dave for your updates on the Pulse…greatly appreciated . Cindy & Bob Boyenga

I worked at KSB a few years ago and knew Dr. Khan as a result. He was a terrific man and my heartfelt prayers go out to his family and to his family at KSB.

Dr. Khan was one of a kind. Working with him on several occassions he taught me many things. Without hesitation he took on my brother as a new pt. I am proud to have known and worked with him. My thoughts and prayers to his family and his KSB staff/co-workers.
