“You know what rumors are like–like a jar full of moths. Once they escape, they’re all over the place.”
RHYS BOWEN, Oh Danny Boy
It’s always interesting to me how rumors get started. Someone, somewhere, has to either misunderstand or simply fabricate a story.
Occasionally I hear through that infamous grapevine that KSB Hospital is merging with (insert your partner of choice here).
I’m initially shocked that KSB is merging, and then I remember that I’m the CEO and I would have heard something about that merger were it to be true.
In the 4+ years I have held this position I have yet to miss a single meeting of our board of directors, and I’m quite sure that we could not make a decision to sell the hospital without the board being on board.
Just today I was informed by a member of our management team that they heard we were merging. This was followed by a phone call from an area hospital CEO that asked if the “rumor” was true.
I went back through the minutes of the board meeting and, true enough, there was no mention of merging.
My commitment to you is to try whenever possible to let KSB employees be the first to know if something important is happening in our organization. That hasn’t changed.
Please help me in “squashing these moths”.
And if you hear we are merging please contact me. I don’t want to miss anything.
