The Petunia Festival provides our area with a sense of community. Beginning with tours of the Reagan Boyhood Home on Tuesday morning through a final musical presentation Sunday evening I counted 98 activities listed on the Petunia Festival website.
I’m proud that KSB Hospital is an active participant in the festival. KSB is the primary sponsor of the 35th Annual KSB Tennis Classic. The Hospital sponsored the Family Fun Night on the Old Lee County Courthouse Lawn Friday afternoon. We then capped off the festivities by sponsoring the fireworks Sunday evening.
Saturday afternoon organizers opened The Dixon Splash Pad. KSB is a platinum sponsor of the facility. In addition to the grand opening of the park, plans were announced for a community center.
The Reagan Run 5K celebrated its 20th anniversary with over 1,200 runners, and KSB Hospital took home the coveted Corporate Challenge Cup. KSB’s Nancy Varga and Aaron Fox invest countless hours in making the race one of Northwest Illinois’ finest. Race results can be found by clicking here.
The Petunia Festival happens because of the dedicated efforts of The Board of Directors. Take a few minutes and read their names. Because of their hard work we have the chance to celebrate our community over the 4th of July holiday.
Thank you, Petunia Festival. See you next year!!!
