David L. Schreiner, FACHE, was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He graduated from Dwight High School in Dwight, Illinois and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Illinois University where he competed in Intercollegiate Track & Field and served as President of his Fraternity. David received his Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology in 1986 and his Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration in 1993 from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
David and his wife Stephanie live in Dixon and have two children; Kaile and Andrew. Stephanie earned her Master’s of Nursing Degree from Northern Illinois University and has served in several professional areas, including Emergency Nursing and teaching.
David joined KSB Hospital as the Director of Medical Imaging in 1989 and was promoted to Vice President in 1996. On January 1, 2007 David was named KSB’s Chief Operating Officer, and on April 1, 2011 he became President and Chief Executive Officer of KSB Hospital. Previous employment includes work at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri and the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
David has served or currently serves on the Boards of The American College of Healthcare Executives, The Illinois Hospital Association, The American Hospital Association Small & Rural Governance Committee, Sinnissippi Centers, Inc., Dixon Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Lee County, Dixon Family YMCA, Home of Hope, Lee County Health Department, St. Anne Education Commission, St. Anne Finance Committee, Newman Central Catholic Development Board, Dixon Riverfront Foundation, and Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center.
David has competed in marathons, triathlons and cycling events. He was a finisher of the 2004 Ironman Wisconsin, a competition consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. He participated in the 2008 Boston Marathon as completed 10 other marathons.
David is an adjunct faculty member in the Health Services Administration program for the University of St. Francis and teaches in their MHA program. He received the 2006 Excellence in Teaching Award from the University. David has served on the Board of Directors of Sterling Federal Bank since 2004.
David was named the 2007 Dixon Citizen of the Year by the Dixon Area Chamber of Commerce.
