Remembering Dr. Khan

To the KSB family, We begin this new week with heavy hearts following the sudden loss of our own Dr. Rifaqat Khan in a tragic accident on Friday afternoon. Of course, our thoughts and prayers are with the Khan family as they grieve. Our first concern is to offer sympathy and support to Dr. Khan’s family. In accordance with the family’s wishes and religious customs, a visitation was held Saturday and the burial service took place Sunday. The entire KSB family is saddened tonight by the sudden loss of our own Dr. Rifaqat Khan, who died earlier today in a boating accident on the Rock River. Those of you who had opportunity to work with him know that he was an amazingly astute clinician who was passionate in his care for his patients. Outside of the Hospital, he was a man of diverse interests who made a great friend to many of his fellow staff members. Several years ago Dr. Iyer came to me with an idea.  He wanted to offer to his patients and the community the opportunity to get some exercise and talk about their health.  Fast forward to Saturday, April 14. Dr. Iyer will finally see his dream become a reality.  Beginning at 7 AM at Lowell Park he will host the first of his Walk With a Doc programs.
